Austin & Rachel Hunt
Both Austin and Rachel grew up as the children of foreign missionaries. Having grown up in Kitwe, Austin had a front-row seat to the planting of healthy, indigenous churches in Zambia. He left Zambia in 2012 with a desire to return equipped to teach at Central Africa Baptist University and to continue participating in church-planting efforts in the country. During his years in the United States, he met Rachel, married, completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science, joined the Resurrection Church plant, and was later called by Resurrection Church to serve in pastoral ministry. He also completed his M.Div. at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary (DBTS).
In 2024, our family moved back to Kitwe, Zambia. Throughout 2025, Austin served on the faculty of Central Africa Baptist University, teaching Greek and biblical studies, while also being actively involved in the life and ministry of a local church. During this time, our family grew with the birth of our son, Cyrus, who was born in Zambia.
Rachel spent most of her growing-up years in France, where her parents served as missionaries. After moving to the United States, she earned an undergraduate degree in biblical counseling in 2013, married Austin in 2016, and has been a member of Resurrection Church since its planting in 2015. She is excited to care for our three children—Caspian, Adelaide, and Cyrus—and to use her gifts in service to a local church in Kitwe.
